Hairstyling Workshop with Guest Stylist Pablo Kuemin – March 26 – 30, 2017
Sleek partings, max-volume bedhead curls, rock chick quiffs, tousled fringes and eye skimming bangs, sweeping side braids, pigtails, half-up fishtails and reverse-tucked ponytails, plaits and topknots, even the 70s shag… every season seems to bring an entire gamut of hairstyles, from the classically elegant to the über cool.
Recognizing the need to enhance the skill set and fuel the imagination of hair and make-up artists and stylists in the region, ILLUMIN8 is hosting an intense, tailor-made workshop, running from the 26th to the 30th of March, created and conducted by Swiss hairstylist Pablo Kuemin.
The youngest hairdresser in the world to join the Hall of Fame, two-times winner of the Swiss Hairdresser of the Year, global ambassador for Balmain Hair, Pablo has one of the most impressive resumés in the business. And with good reason: he’s not only exceptionally talented and creative, he’s also hardworking, professional and generous.
“For designers, photographers, creative directors and editors, hairstyling is not just an addition to the look, it needs to stand out as much as the clothing or the make-up,” said Kate Goodwin, founder of ILLUMIN8 Media Make-up Studio. “I’m excited to have someone of Pablo’s caliber join us and guest-host this customized workshop. I know local hairstylists will benefit and enjoy it immensely,” concluded Kate.
Pablo’s breadth and depth of experience is truly astonishing. He has worked with nearly every well-known designer, from the established houses of Balmain, Chanel, Dior, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Hermes, Versace, Dolce&Gabbana, Prada to Kanye West, Tom Ford, Baja West, Alexander Wang and Marc Jacobs, either at the top fashion weeks or for international ad campaigns and commercials. His creative credits to fashion and beauty editorials and magazine covers are too many to list. And the same could be said about his client list of models, celebrities and socialites.
The 5-day workshop is a concentrated effort to cover a wide range of topics, starting with the basics – such as sanitation and sterilization, shampoos and rinses, and hair chemistry; continuing with varying techniques in hair sculpture, design, braiding, extensions, as well as street and high-fashion trends; and putting emphasis on concept and execution for the hairstylist at work, be that a fashion show or a bridal editorial.
ILLUMIN8 Media Make-up Studio uses the award winning SACHAJUAN professional hair products for hair styling which Pablo will incorporate in his tutorials. To look at Pablo’s creative work visit www.pablo-kuemin.com.
